ebrary, Inc.™ Restricted Resource
A searchable online book collection of more than 100,000 titles. To create a personal bookshelf or to access off-campus, sign in using your Portal username and password. To create notes, highlight text or print several pages, sign in and click the grey button on the search results page to open the e-book in the ebrary Reader. You may also access the ebrary Reader by clicking on the book title and then on the ebrary Reader blue button. This feature now includes audio enhancement. Click for further instructions.
Note: If you want to search using Boolean operators, the operators must be in all capital letters (AND, OR, NOT).

Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy
Provides access to over 2,700 articles that have been edited for level and consistency by a team of subject experts.  Regularly updated with new and revised articles it serves as an entry point for further discovery and research.  Also a reference source for research in subjects related to philosophy, such as politics, psychology, economics, anthropology, religion and literature.

Gale Virtual Reference Library
A database of encyclopedias and specialized reference resources for multidisciplinary research, including: fashion, film and filmmakers, pop culture, and multicultural issues. Includes the six-volume Beacham’s Guide to the Endangered Species of North America.


Oxford Handbooks Online - Religious Studies
Forty-five titles covering various topics, such as: the environment, sociology, ethics, emotion, feminism and globalization in relation to different world religions.


Grove Art Online (now Oxford Art Online)
Searchable online version of the 34-volume Grove Dictionary of Art covering the visual arts from prehistory to the 1990s. Also includes The Oxford Companion to Western Art, Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, and The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms.


Salem Press Online
Online access to the following Salem Press titles in the Library's Reference collection: The Decades series (1920's - 2000's), Careers in Chemistry, and Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Events.
